Mad Libs were a huge part of my childhood. For some reason, my sisters and I generally had to share a single book of mad libs, so add 4 girls fighting over which word to use to the usual hilarity and you end up with a stomach ache from laughing so hard.
Have your kiddos fill out the list of words before looking at the Dad Libs printable for maximum amusement. If they read the printable first, their minds will automatically be influenced by the context. Copy those words into the blanks in the Dad Libs printable to create a story that ends up being completely nonsensical, kind of like the jokes all of our dear dads love to tell!
Mad Libs are a fantastic way to teach parts of speech, and if you’re a homeschooler like me, you’re always looking for ways to sneak in a little education. I let my kiddos make these all by themselves and my older kids had as much fun as my littles. After completing their own, they printed off an extra and worked together to make it as funny as possible.
